When a person getting religion as his life guidance, it usually means that he believes its core value and wants to be faithful of it. Thus it will be very ridiculous that a believer intentionally avoids talking about the core value of the religion he chose and eludes the conflicts of personal/cultural/secular values (whatever you named it). So what the core value of the religion is. Some people said it is "TRUTH". Actually I like another more distinct term "MORAL LAW". However, why does the moral law have to be the core value of the religion? Let's review its definition first.
Definition: Moral law, the law of duty as regards what is right and wrong in the sight of God.
According to above, we can realize that God is a moral giver, and normally an intention justified by moral law won't be reluctant to accept public inspection. And then each believer must admit that "Moral Law is Absolute". You might tell me that "It's insane! There is not any thing that is absolute in this world". Yeah, I know there are many disputation here. But I think most of time, people just get confusion of "The Vision of Moral Law" and "Immoral Behavior". For example, a sentence like that "Thou Shalt not Steal". There is no way or no condition that is able to overrule or against the idea of it. A man who stands for moral relativism might tell you "A premise sometimes can make stealing justice". Have you noticed any thing wrong here? Let's review a scripture of Romans 7:7 for now.
What then is to be said? is the law sin? in no way. But I would not have had knowledge of sin but for the law: for I would not have been conscious of desire if the law had not said, You may not have a desire for what is another's.
Please pay attention to "I would not have had knowledge of sin but for the law". Now let's take a look of what did moral relativist said again. "A premise sometimes can make stealing justice". If the moral law is not absolute, there is no need to put a premise to make stealing justice. In other words, there is no way that the result of behavior and behavior itself can change the vision of moral law. Even in extreme situation that some one stole some thing to save the whole world, we just only can say we tolerate it actually. However, we won't start to take the property of another because someone ever saved the world by stealing. So moral law is moral law, it ought to be very clear originally. Even people who have no religious faith know what the moral law is as well. Therefore, the thing we have to be very careful is those moral values are tinted by the personal/cultural/secular purpose. In modern era, the atmospheres like "easy-going purpose", "no pressure", "no discipline", or "no moral teaching" are all deadly religious scams hiding in today's religious organizations. Sometimes people might said that "There is no need to be so serious", "Those are lawyer's thinking", "We are prayers but not lawyers". I think no one would deny to pursue a joyful life. But pursuing a joyful life doesn't mean people have to give up moral law or the core value of religion. If a person, a place or an environment puts pressures on believer to abate the scale of morality, we might need to be very careful where does the value that we are relying on come from? Because if someone can make us believe insaneness, he can make us behave injustice too. The path of truth pursuing is always to recognize "What is" and "What ought to be", and to differentiate "Absolute Moral" and "Changing Behavior". So what is the religious scam that we might not notice before? It can be a person intentionally uses moral relativism to replace moral law.
Let there be no thought that I have come to put an end to the law or the prophets. I have not come for destruction, but to make complete. Truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth come to an end, not the smallest letter or part of a letter will in any way be taken from the law, till all things are done.
